A little bit about me

Hi, I am Jinjin, I also go by Jessica. I am a UX designer with a firm academic background in psychology, human factors, and media science.

Growing up as a left-handed person,

I encounter a lot of "edge cases" (scissors ✂️ won't cut with my left hand, of course). Little did I know, this experience planted the seeds of empathy and inclusivity in my heart, ultimately shaping me into a designer deeply committed to accessibility design and an advocate for marginalized communities. Leveraging my background in psychology, adept research skills, artistic prowess, and creative mindset, I aspire to think beyond conventional boundaries and contribute to the creation of products that are not only user-friendly but also foster a more inclusive experience for all.

Always wanted to be a designer.
In kindergarten, I was all about Art Attack🎨; my dream? Becoming a famous artist. Then, elementary school brought Swap Space 🛋️into my Saturday nights, and I craved the life of an interior designer. But hold on—middle school unveiled Project Runway👗, and just like that, I was determined to be a fashion designer. So, from paintbrush dreams to rearranging furniture fantasies and now sewing up runway magic, my childhood aspirations have been one wild design adventure!

Oh UX?

As much as I love studying psychology and media, I want to do something challenging and fun. As I was anxiously searching for an internship during my sophomore year, I saw something called UX. The more I researched it, the more I fell in love with it, and I joined an intensive bootcamp right away. For the first time, I was so committed to one thing.

Now, the journey continues.

Post-bootcamp, I launched several internships, applying UX principles in real-world scenarios. Currently pursuing a master's degree in UX Research and Design at UMich, I am actively seeking opportunities to further contribute and expand my expertise in the dynamic realm of UX.
